I was slightly annoyed with my assignment this week in photography class. We were supposed to photograph something meaningful that shows our photographic style and personal expression. Immediately, I thought of submitting photos of my family. They mean the most to me, and this city and these people are still far too foreign to consider them personal. But of course, I had to shoot a new roll of film and couldn't use old negatives. I thought about photographing friends, and that didn't work out. So I decided to try something a little conceptual. I don't generally like the whole conceptual stuff, because it often comes out cheesy. But it was my last resort. So this is supposed to represent my family and the people who have made me who I am. Read the title and maybe it will make sense. Crap. Now I'm feeling nostalgic. I'll shut up now.
I like it, but I was wondering: why is the model's face underexposed? did u do that on purpose? or was it a fluke? it would have been interesting to see some features of the face. but nice work anyways =]
It was done on purpose. The photograph isn't about the person in the photo, so I didn't want to see their face. Plus, I thought it'd be more interesting to keep this simple and minimal, and have the eye drawn to the way the light falls on his back. Thank you for the thoughts!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

wonderful work.
I love the way the light is so soft, like a memory, and it slowly grades into darkness.. very well done!
