At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I love this piece. Although at surface level, it seems to be just another portrait, there is so much more to it. I typically hate fat crops. I feel they cut the motion of the eye short and cripple the viewer's ability to appreciate the piece. However, this fat crop pulls my eyes across. Then before I can release, it pulls them deeper and into the background. I feel the chill of this photograph and the dampness of the mist. More than that, I can feel the connection between you and your sister, as if I've been privy to a special moment of peace. Love it.
There's something in this photo I can't explain, but it's got me captivated...the photo, the expression of the sis, the title, the description... This will sound like a cliche, but this whole package has some sort of purity to it.
